What can I say? A movie about a game that every gamer like myself can only dream about hits the big screens, I had to watch it. I just had to. A very simple but appropriate name to the movie too – Gamer. I’ll just cut the crap and get straight to the point. Wait a sec, sorry. I can’t cut the crap and get straight to the point. Cause if I did, there won’t be anything for me to write about. Gamer is a total piece of crap. It’s pure shit, from the storyline to the cast to the action. Rotten Tomatoes were nice enough to rate Gamer a nice 23%. If it was up to me, I’d rate it 2%. That 2% just because Amber Valletta starred in it. She looks pretty old for a 35 year old (1974), but still very hot.
Gamer is about 2 games, Society and Slayers. Society is like the Sims. Well if you don’t know the Sims, I can’t really explain it any better. In Society humans either pay to play characters in the game or get paid to be played as a character in the game. Cool? Pretty cool if you think about it. You can make your character do all sorts of evil deeds.
Slayers on the other hand is an FPS (First Person Shooter). Players control real humans in the game. Characters in Slayers are convicts on death row. If they survive 30 rounds, they are set free. If they don’t survive, they will be dead anyway. Watching this shit reminded me too much of another movie called Death Race.
I noticed 2 other actors in Gamer, Ludacris and John Leguizamo. Both had very small parts in the movie but John had the smallest. It must be hard getting jobs nowadays or something cause I didn’t think they would take these small parts. They probably had about 10 minutes of screen time each.
Below is the spoiler, click it if you want to know what happen in the end. Even if you don’t click it I’m sure you know what happens in the end anyway. All shit movies have the same plot and the same ending.
